A question I often get from wineries and organizations I work with is “How can I get better open rates on my emails?”
Sending emails only to have them get deleted without an open or, worse yet, marked as spam, is really frustrating. No one wants that!
Here are three tips which I have found can really make a difference in open rates:
1. Make the subject line enticing to the receiver.
The subject line is the first thing your receiver sees: make it ENTICING! Don’t just announce that you have tickets on sale or a new wine to release, tempt them with the details that will make them want to learn more!
2. Send engaging emails
Do your emails serve your readers or just serve you? Establishing a habit of sending valuable, interesting emails means your receivers are more likely to open the next one that comes. Don’t just share what you want them to know– share it in a way that it interests your readers, followers and wine club members.
3. Open your own bulk emails & ask your team to do the same.
Yes, you and your team probably already know what is in your emails, but open each one any way. Bonus points for clicking on any links.
Every “open” your email gets sends the signal that the email (and the sender… YOU) is VALUABLE. So don’t delete the one that comes into your email box. Open it. Spend time with it open. Maybe even forward it to a friend. And ask your team to do the same.
These are just three tips I like to share when wineries ask me how to boost their email open rates. I’ve seen them work with organizations and wineries alike.
Put them to work for you and I am sure you will see results!
