During the speed tasting sessions at the Wine Bloggers Conference in July, the Emma Pearl chardonnay really made me want to slow down and enjoy it for more than the five minutes allotted.

After the hour was up (and I had tasted 12 white wines!) I made my way over to chat more with Nova Cadamatre, who is the winemaker for Emma Pearl.

Here is what she had to say:

Graciously, Nova offered me a bottle of Emma Pearl to take home and enjoy at a more leisurely pace.
Not only did I do that, but I also paired it up with one of my sister-in-law’s favorite recipes, Chicken Tetrazinni, to see how well it paired with chicken and pasta, as suggested.

Well, Nova was right on, and a simple delicious dinner was turned fabulous.

I told my husband that I wasn’t sure just how to describe the Emma Pearl, but that I knew I wanted to have it on hand always.

Although it is rich and full-bodied, it is still fresh, unassuming and very easy to drink. And at about $18, it’s a steal.

I think I’m going to try the chicken dish by The Happy Housewife AND the Emma Pearl… Thanks for the info and the idea for dinner!

[...] Nova has been making wine for close to a decade throughout the US, most recently on the Central Coast and in Sonoma County of California. I had the pleasure of meeting her at the Wine Bloggers Conference last August. She shared a bit about Emma Pearl, her luscious chardonnay with me in this video. [...]
